Requiring Courses by a Certain Date vs. Setting Expiration Dates to a Course

Follow

This tutorial will go over the differences of requiring a course vs. expiring a course.

Thinkzoom allows you to set course requirements for your audience. However, as the administrator responsible for this, you need to be mindful of where you’re adding a date to the course requirement.

Make sure you aren’t trying to require the course through the actual course page instead of where you need to set course requirements, which is through the Group page.

If you’re in the edit settings of a course and add a date to the Expiration Date field under Options and hit Update Course that course will be removed completely from the campus on the date you set.

In which case, you will need to contact ej4 Support to have that course put back on the campus.

The only way to require a course is through the Group page. You can either set course requirements when you’re adding courses to a Group or if you’re editing the courses via the Manage Courses option under the Admin button.

Click that gray widget icon to open up the course requirements pop-up window and then set the course requirement date from there.

And that’s how you set a course requirement versus setting a course to expire. Again, make sure to not expire the course by trying to set a course requirement from within the course page’s edit settings. If that happens, you’ll need to alert ej4 Support to reinstate the course.
